PTI Masculine Birthday

I wanted to make a card using the PTI set "Through The Trees". It's a fun set, and I love being able to make the trees any season. I used the Rock and Roll technique to stamp the leaves by first stamping them in Marigold, then rocking the outer part of the stamp in a red (sorry, I don't remember which one!) I stamped the truck in Chocolate Chip and also stamped the background on the brown background in the same color.

Again, loving these background stamps! They're so easy to do, but add a lot to the card.

The sentiment was stamped with PTI's "Birthday Basics" on Marigold paper. I trimmed it down and punched the sides with my corner punch. I popped it up on dimensionals, and added a red Baker's Twine ribbon around the whole thing.

Stamps: PTI - Through The Trees, Birthday Basics, Tin Types Background Paper: PTI Cream, SU Chocolate Chip, Marigold Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, Marigold, unknown red Accessories:PTI Baker's Twine

PTI Sympathy Card

I needed a sympathy card for a dear friend recently. I pulled out my Papertrey set, "With Sympathy", and found a sketch to use. I stamped the background on the eggplant paper with PTI's Tin Types background stamp, to give it a little texture. The butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

I loved using the background stamp - I am going to have to get more of those. They add just a little something, and are a bit more versatile than trying to find patterned papers that match.

Stamps: PTI - With Sympathy, Tin Types Paper: PTI Cream, Kraft; SU Eggplant, Old Olive Ink: SU Eggplant, Old Olive Accessories:PTI Button Twine

Basic Grey Thank You

Had a nice long weekend - hope everyone did the same! Back to work, but I had some time to put this card together.

This card uses the new Basic Grey Nook & Pantry paper, and I used the colors from that. Added a bit of felt and bling, and I really liked the way it turned out!

Stamps: PTI Paper: PTI Kraft, Basic Grey Nook & Pantry, SU Chocolate Chip, PTI White Ink: SU Basic Brown Accessories:PTI Felt, PTI Mat Stack Die

Year of Flowers Thank You

I wanted to make a thank you card, and to use my new Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers: Gladiolus set. I stamped the main image on cream paper, colored with Copics, and stamped "Thank you" from another new PTI set, Fillable Frames #7.

It looked pretty at that point, but I saw Nichole Heady's card with the glitter, and thought that would be a great way to finish it off. I used little dabs of glue in the center of the flowers, and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it (and of course, all over my work table!) I'm really liking using the glittery stuffs now. I have had them in my stash for awhile, but just didn't know how fun they can be!

Stamps: PTI Paper: PTI Vintage Cream Ink: Palette Noir Technique:Copics Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds (SU!)

Petal Pizzazz Birthday

For inspiration on today's card, I used a template for a card that I once made at a make & take at Impress. The card I had made was a Christmas card, but I needed to make some birthday cards, so I pulled out a Stampin Up stamp set that I hadn't used for awhile.

I stamped a few flowers from Petal Pizzazz onto Hawaiian Shores paper with matching ink, then stamped another flower and leaf onto white, and framed with Raspberry Fizz. Really simple, but I like how tropical it looks! Makes me want to go back to Hawaii..

Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, SU Paper: Papertrey white, Papertrey Hawaiian Shores, Papertrey Raspberry Fizz Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, Palette Noir

CPS #182 Challenge

My second card today was inspired by the CPS Challenge. I scored the PTI Kraft paper with my Scor-Pal, then wrapped it in Summer Sunrise ribbon, and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy. It looked a little bare, so I added a button by K&Co, then mounted it all on some bright Summer Sunrise paper.

Stamps: Out on a Limb, PTI Paper: PTI Kraft, PTI Summer Sunrise Ink: SU! Night of Navy Accessories: PTI Summer Sunrise ribbon, button by K&Co.

Out on a Limb Birthday Card

I pulled out one of my Fabriano cards to make this simple one-layer card. I have always liked the Papertrey Ink's Out on a Limb stamp set. It's just so pretty and you can do so much with it!

On this card, I stamped the branch in Chocolate Chip, the flowers in Groovy Guava, and the leaves in Wasabi, and the sentiment in Buckaroo Blue (all ink Stampin Up!)

Embossing Folder Sunshine

I used one of Tim Holtz's new embossing folders, and one of Papertrey Ink's fillable frames. I thought the embossing folder looked kind of like a sunrise, so I swiped some ink along the "sun rays".

Bind-it-All Book

I made this book with my Bind-it-All and some Memory Box papers. I had taken some pictures of flowers (practicing my new camera), and I wanted to make a book out of them. The BIA made it pretty easy to make the little book.

Mwing Card - Digital Stamps

My daughter drew this image (along with some other images) for school. I scanned them, printed them, and used them as digital stamps for some cards. I thought they were so cute! She called the character "Mwing". I colored it with Copic markers and made this card.

I made this card for a co-worker. I needed a "masculine" card, and the "Wanted" set from Stampin Up was really great for that. I stamped off the horse stamp to make it look like it was moving. I also used paper and a brad from Stampin Up.

This card challenge from JulieHRR was quite a stretch for me - a one layer card. I didn't realize how much I liked to use layers! I thought this little Stampendous bee would make a cute "get well" card.

July 19, 2010

This was a challenge from SplitCoastStampers. It was to combine colors that you usually wouldn't combine. I liked the way this turned out - but I think I would eventually like to recreate the card, maybe stepping it up a bit.

June 20, 2010

Love this Stampendous flower! I stamped it in Purely Pomegranate a few times and liked the effect. I thought it didn't need much more, so I added a strip of vellum stamped with Happy Birthday and attached it with brads. My first 6x6 card, too.

June 13, 2010

This card also uses the alcohol ink technique on glossy paper. The blue is from Club Scrap.

June 7, 2010

This card uses the SU! Hydrangea stamp too. I stamped it twice on black and cream papers, using coordinating Tsukineko inks on the black paper. I matted it on sage paper, and then again on dark green paper (all Club Scrap).

June 6, 2010

The first card that I wanted to share is one that I made using a technique using alcohol inks, silver Krylon paint pens, and a teflon sheet. I stamped the image with a Stampin' Up! retired "Hydrangea" stamp, and matted on Club Scrap paper.
